AI Without Outsourcing Your Soul: Use the Tools Without Losing Your Voice
AI is changing the way we work.
It can help us write faster, create content more efficiently, and communicate at a scale that was impossible just a few years ago. But that raises an important question:
How do you use AI without losing your voice?
In a recent conversation with marketing expert Ray Edwards, one insight stood out:
Speed is not the same as wisdom.
AI can be an incredible assistant. It can help organize ideas, improve clarity, and save time. But when we allow it to do our thinking for us, we risk outsourcing something God never intended us to give away—our agency.
God has entrusted you with creativity, discernment, wisdom, and responsibility. Those aren't things technology can replace.
As Ray shared, AI can amplify your message, but it cannot replace your voice.
This isn't really an AI issue. It's a stewardship issue.
Every generation faces new tools. Some reject them. Others worship them. Neither response is healthy.
The invitation is to steward them well.
Use the tools. Don't become dependent on them.
Let God shape the person holding the tools.
Because the future doesn't belong to those with the most powerful tools. It belongs to those who learn to steward them well.
This week, take time to reflect on the following questions:
Where have you been tempted to prioritize speed over wisdom?
What would change if you invited God into the process before you invited technology into the solution?
