How to Lead through Discouragement and Regain Momentum
I’ll be honest, I’ve been wrestling with discouragement.
As we build the new Heaven in Business Growth Path, there are days I find myself staring at the screen thinking, “Is this even worth it?”
Maybe you’ve been there too, doing good work, seeing fruit, but feeling tired or disappointed that things haven’t moved as fast as you hoped.
That’s when God reminded me of Elijah.
After calling down fire from heaven, Elijah expected revival, but instead, he hit exhaustion. Under the broom tree, he told God, “I’ve had enough.”
And God’s response?
Not a rebuke. Not another big assignment. Just a nap, a meal… and a whisper.
Sometimes that’s what leadership recovery looks like: rest, nourishment, and quiet.
When Elijah finally listened, God said, “Go back the way you came and anoint others.”
In other words, you’re not done; you’re called to multiply.
3 Keys to Regain Momentum
-
Refocus on intimacy, not activity. Return to relationship before results.
-
Redefine success. It’s not what you achieve—it’s who you develop.
-
Recommit to multiplication. Build systems and people that outlast you.
If you’re feeling weary, remember:
You’re not finished—you’re being refined.
The same God who brought fire on the mountain also whispers life in the silence.
So rest, eat, listen… and then lead again.
