Marketing Without Manipulation: How to Multiply Your Message Without Losing Your Soul

There's a tension many business leaders are feeling right now.

On one hand, we have more tools than ever before. AI can help us write faster, create content, automate processes, and expand our reach. Marketing platforms allow us to connect with thousands of people in ways that weren't possible just a few years ago.

On the other hand, many leaders are quietly asking a deeper question:

"How do I grow without becoming someone I don't want to be?"

How do you market your business without becoming manipulative? How do you use AI without losing your authentic voice? How do you scale your influence without compromising your integrity?

This week's conversation with my friend Ray Edwards tackles those questions head-on.

Ray has spent decades helping entrepreneurs communicate effectively, but he also shares his personal journey of recognizing when persuasion crossed the line into manipulation, and why he chose a different path.

One of my favorite takeaways from our discussion is this:

Don't reject the tools.  Don't worship the tools.  Let God shape the person holding the tools.

The real question isn't whether marketing or AI are good or bad. The deeper question is whether what we're building is worth multiplying.

Before asking how to get louder, faster, or bigger, take a moment to ask yourself:

Is what I'm doing genuinely helping people? Does it reflect God's heart? Am I building something that produces life?

Because whatever is already inside of us will eventually be amplified.

This week, I encourage you to pause and invite God into your business, your messaging, and your use of technology. Ask Him where He wants to bring greater alignment between your influence and your integrity.

The Strategic Power of Discernment
One bad decision can shake your confidence. You thought you heard God about a relationship, a hire, a partnership, or an opportunity, but the outcome wasn’t what you expected. Now you find yourself second-guessing what you sense. But one missed decision doesn’t mean you’re bad at discernment. Hebrews tells us that discernment develops “by reason of use.” In other words, we grow as we practice. ...
What Will You Do if You Can't Quit?
What do you do when quitting feels impossible—but continuing feels just as hard? I’ve noticed that entrepreneurs are really good at pushing through. It’s one of our strengths. But it can also become a weakness when we keep pushing simply because we can’t bear the thought of failing. Joseph and Brittany Williams faced that tension through business setbacks, a lawsuit, financial pressure, and gro...
Pastor and Business Leader: What We Wish We Knew
Too often, we’ve separated Sunday ministry from Monday business. Pastors often see business leaders primarily through the lens of giving and volunteering, while business leaders may assume their pastor offers little for the challenges they face at work. Both miss something valuable. I sat down with Randy Griffin, former pastor, business owner, and now C12 Chair, to talk about what each side wis...
