The Grace Effect

What if grace wasn’t merely something you received from God, but the way you actually lead your business?

This week, Andy Mason talks with Grace Over Grind author Shae Bynes about replacing fear, control, and hyper-independence with trust, surrender, and partnership with God.

Grace doesn’t mean working less. It means refusing to operate as though everything depends on you.

Takeaways for this week:

1. Check your operating system. Where are anxiety, pressure, or control influencing how you lead?

2. Ask those closest to you. What is it actually like to work with you?

3. Have a wisdom meeting with God. Ask: Father, what is on Your heart? Jesus, what is Your strategy? Holy Spirit, what wisdom do You want me to know?

4. Check your comfort. Are you still following God’s assignment—or simply staying with what’s working?

You don’t graduate from grace. Every new season is another invitation to trust, surrender, and take the next faithful step.

It’s in those moments that disappointment can quickly turn into what Andy calls “filthy narratives”: I failed. I’m not good at this. Maybe I shouldn’t have tried. But the facts and the story you’re telling yourself aren’t always the same thing. So, what do you do when things don’t go accor...
The Strategic Power of Discernment
One bad decision can shake your confidence. You thought you heard God about a relationship, a hire, a partnership, or an opportunity, but the outcome wasn’t what you expected. Now you find yourself second-guessing what you sense. But one missed decision doesn’t mean you’re bad at discernment. Hebrews tells us that discernment develops “by reason of use.” In other words, we grow as we practice. ...
What Will You Do if You Can't Quit?
What do you do when quitting feels impossible—but continuing feels just as hard? I’ve noticed that entrepreneurs are really good at pushing through. It’s one of our strengths. But it can also become a weakness when we keep pushing simply because we can’t bear the thought of failing. Joseph and Brittany Williams faced that tension through business setbacks, a lawsuit, financial pressure, and gro...
