Incubation for Increase: Trusting God in Business Delays
May 28, 2025
What if your delay isn’t a detour but divine preparation? What if the silence, struggle, or setback is actually incubation for increase?
This week on the Heaven in Business podcast, I shared three real-life testimonies—each a reminder that God is not only present in our business challenges, but actively working through them to bring about something greater than we imagined.
Here’s a deeper dive into that encouragement for every Kingdom-minded entrepreneur navigating waiting, delay, or apparent disruption.
1. Testimonies That Strengthen
Revelation 12:11 says we overcome “by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” Testimonies are heaven’s resume—they reveal what God has done and what He desires to do again.
Staffing Business Breakthrough: One couple endured anxiety, failed deals, a coup attempt at their church, and even having their YouTube channel shut down. But God. They listened, obeyed, and are now leading a growing business and spiritual movement in a new country.
Financial Advisor Turnaround: After years of frustration and side jobs just to survive, they heard a clear word: change strategy. Within five weeks of obedience, their growth exploded—up 45% over the past five years combined.
Personal Story – Janine’s Journey: My wife’s delayed flight to Brazil turned into a divine upgrade—literally. After missed connections and confusion, she ended up in business class on a standby ticket, a powerful picture of Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I will do a new thing… I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
2. Delay is Not Denial
The most dangerous lie we can believe in seasons of delay is that God has forgotten us. The truth? He is forging something in you.
“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” — Proverbs 30:5 (NKJV)
What feels like a delay is often the refining of faith, the strengthening of vision, the maturing of character. Like a baby bird fighting through the eggshell, resistance is necessary for strength.
3. Perspective Changes Everything
When Janine missed her connection, it didn’t feel like Isaiah 43. It felt like delay and defeat. But revisiting the Word reminded us: God will make a way in the wilderness. Not might. Not maybe. He will.
Ask the Holy Spirit:
“What do I need to learn and know in the midst of this?”
Then anchor in truth and start to pray from the promise, not the problem:
“Thank You, God, that You’ve called me by name.”
“Thank You that You’re with me in the fire.”
“Thank You that You make a way where there is no way.”
4. You Are Not Alone
God doesn’t assign and abandon. He leads and stays. He’s not waiting on the other side of the breakthrough—He’s walking with you through the middle of it.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned…” — Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)
Final Thought: Incubation for Increase
If you’re in a season of confusion or delay, consider this: you may not be stuck… you may be incubating. Growth takes time. Strength is built in hidden places.
It’s not death or delay—it’s incubation for increase.
Let that truth shape how you see your current season.
