When Pressure Hits, Who’s on the Throne?
What started as a win, a long-awaited “new” truck, quickly turned into a roadside crisis when the check engine light came on three hours from my destination. But the real issue wasn’t mechanical. It was internal. Pressure has a way of revealing what’s ruling your heart. Fear? Control? Shame? Or anchored identity?
Crisis doesn’t create who you are; it exposes who you’ve been living as. In that moment, I had a choice: react out of fear and accusation, or respond out of love and clarity. Choosing to pause, gather the facts, and lead from a place of being rooted in Christ completely changed the outcome. The issue was resolved cleanly, not because I forced it, but because integrity and calm authority created space for favor.
For Christian business leaders, the lesson is clear:
Pause before you pounce.
Stay rooted in love.
Communicate with calm authority.
Your next pressure moment doesn’t have to derail you. It can refine you. Lead from love. Stay anchored. And watch how crisis becomes testimony.
