Mentoring Young Entrepreneurs with God
A student was recently asked what kind of life he wanted to live.
His answer was one word: “Interruptible.”
That response came after spending time around Nick and Molly Pastermack, entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs in Residence at Taylor University, who have intentionally made room in their lives for students, conversations, meals, and mentorship.
One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation was that the next generation is not simply looking for teaching. They are looking for models of what it actually looks like to partner with God at work:
How do you hear God in business decisions?
How do you lead with peace instead of pressure?
How do you build a culture that reflects the Kingdom?
How do you succeed in business without disconnecting from God in the process?
Many young leaders have grown up understanding faith in theory but have rarely seen it lived out practically in leadership, entrepreneurship, and the marketplace. Sometimes mentorship starts less with a program and more with availability: an open home, a conversation over coffee, a seat at the table, a willingness to share both wins and failures honestly.
For some of you, your greatest Kingdom impact in this season may not come from building something bigger yourself. It may come from helping someone else rise. The next generation is not a problem to manage. They are an opportunity to invest in.
This week, start with this simple question:
Who around you needs encouragement, wisdom, access, or simply your availability?
