Character and integrity

Learn five essential guardrails to protect your integrity, identity, and leadership as God increases your influence.

Have you noticed that when God brings increase, everything multiplies? Not just the opportunities - but also the pressure, the blind spots, and the hidden cracks. That’s what I’ve been navigating personally, and I want to share it with you.

Over the last few months, I’ve seen God do something significant. Whether in Colombia, Brazil, or across the U.S., there’s a hunger for what is real, authentic, and powerful. But with that, there’s also an increase in exposure, of what’s fake, broken, or fragile. And that includes leaders. Business leaders, church leaders, and yes, even me.

So how do we prepare for God’s increase without falling apart?

When Everything Multiplies, What Shows Up?

God is doing what He always promised, but there’s a noticeable acceleration. And with acceleration comes exposure. If you’ve been sowing into your character, integrity, and private world, the results will be outstanding. But if you've been neglecting those things? Watch out.

The same principle applies: what’s hidden will be revealed in increase. And I’ve been feeling God press pause and ask me to deal with some things before I move forward. That means reevaluating feedback, sharpening my boundaries, and surrounding myself with stronger accountability.

Lessons from Kings, Cloud, and Jesus

The books of 1 and 2 Kings show a troubling pattern: most leaders failed at succession. They started strong but didn’t finish well - or left no legacy. I’ve been stuck on those stories for months. Then I picked up Necessary Endings and Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud… again. And it’s like I’m reading them with new eyes.

Jesus, on the other hand, did it perfectly. He built something that lasted by investing deeply in 12 men. He didn’t just lead publicly; He lived in constant alignment with His Father. That’s what we’re after - lasting impact rooted in internal integrity.

"I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do." John 17:4

The Real Leadership Gaps

Here’s what I’m noticing, not just in others, but in me:

Communication gaps

Leadership gaps

Integrity gaps

And they’re all manageable… until they’re not. I’ve watched leaders with massive influence quietly implode - financially, relationally, spiritually. Not because they intended to. But because they didn’t have a plan not to.

5 Guardrails to Keep You Whole

Here’s a simple but powerful heart check I’m using. I encourage you to reflect on these and bring them before God and your inner circle.

  1. Identity

Am I secure in who God says I am, or do I need external results to feel valuable?
Your identity is not in your platform, paycheck, or position. It’s in being a beloved child of God.

  1. Integrity

Am I the same in private as I am in public?
Do my words match my lifestyle? Especially when it comes to finances, relationships, and responsibility?

  1. Humility

Am I open to feedback, even when it’s painful?
Feedback isn’t identity - it’s opportunity. Learning to separate experience from identity is key to growth.

  1. Accountability

Who has permission to call me out - and do they know each other?
Don’t silo your mentors. Create a circle of wise counsel that talks to each other, not just to you.

  1. Fruit

Is what’s multiplying in me life-giving or destructive?
If your private life were multiplied by 100, would it bless others or blow up?

This Is Not About Shame. It’s About Grace.

None of us sets out to wreck our lives or burn bridges. But unless we’re intentional, we can drift there. God’s grace is more than enough. His kindness leads us to repentance, and that means course correction is always possible.
