You Are Part of This: 15 Years of Walking With God at Work

For 15 years, we have been learning what it looks like to walk with God in the messy intersection of faith, family, and business.
We held our first Heaven in Business event in 2011. Since then, we have seen businesses grow, ideas fail, families strengthened, relationships strained, people step into dreams, and leaders discover that following Jesus at work is rarely neat.
Through all of it, one thing has become increasingly clear:
We were never meant to do this alone.

Information Is Not Enough
One of the strongest pieces of feedback from our recent Dallas conference was simple: people wanted more connection.
Not just more teaching. Not just more information.
They wanted relationships with other people trying to put Jesus at the center of real business, real pressure, real family, and real decisions.
That matters because I can grow in information and still remain isolated. I can grow a business and lose intimacy with Christ.
There is something about walking this out together—iron sharpening iron. I have started calling some of this covenant friction: the wrestling, processing, conflict, correction, and relationship that God uses to form us.
The friction is often where we grow.
Who Has God Put in Front of You?
Heaven in Business exists to help you grow in partnership with God in all of life, especially your daily work.
We are becoming increasingly convinced that this is fundamentally about discipleship.
You may call it leadership development, mentoring, coaching, or mastermind groups, but the deeper question is:
Who are you intentionally helping to grow?
A CEO (and shareholder) of a company with around 10,000 employees approached me. He was looking for help raising money for an evangelistic initiative.
That is a good thing. But I asked him, “What are you doing with the 10,000 people God has already placed in front of you?”
His response was essentially, “That’s too hard.”
That broke my heart. Because we cannot outsource what God has entrusted to us.
Your greatest mission field may already be sitting in Monday morning’s meeting.
Your employees. Your business partners. Your customers. Your spouse. Your children. Your community.
Who has God placed in your care?
Start simply.
Pray: “God, give me Your heart for the people You have called me to serve.”
Listen to them. Know them. Encourage them. Help them develop. Share what God is teaching you. Walk with them.
And you may discover that the person who grows the most is you.
Why We Are Going to Zimbabwe and Mozambique
This same conviction shapes our international work.
Through the Hope Directive, we are taking Heaven in Business resources into places where practical faith-and-work training is far less available.
Over the coming months, that includes Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Brazil.
Our goal is not to fly in, hold an event, and disappear.
We are following the pattern Jesus gave His disciples: find a person of peace and stay with them.
We build relationships. We mentor, pray, train, resource, and walk with people over time so they can strengthen others.
In Mozambique, we will spend time with Iris Ministries in Pemba. Their radical commitment to the poorest of the poor challenges me deeply. I am going to learn.
I want to be reminded again that Christ—not influence, business growth, or achievement—is the center.
Then in Brazil, we will continue working with leaders who are helping businesspeople live out their faith Monday through Friday.
The goal everywhere is multiplication.
Your Assignment Is Closer Than You Think
You may never travel with us to Africa or Brazil. That is okay.
You face the same invitation wherever you are:
Who has God given you?
Take what He is teaching you and give it away.
- Walk with someone.
- Disciple someone.
- Encourage someone.
- Pray for someone.
Multiplication starts there.
Three Ways to Participate
There are three practical ways you can engage with what we are doing next.
- Give. Through the Hope Directive, you can help fund travel, training, translation, resources, and ongoing investment into trusted leaders around the world.
- Go with us. On appropriate trips, trusted business leaders can travel with us, serve alongside us, contribute what God has put in them, and build relationships. Join at an upcoming Heaven in Business Event
- Grow with us. Join us at the Scottsdale Executive Retreat, the Nashville Heaven in Business Conference, or the next Growth Path Cohort beginning in March.
Each is simply another way to grow personally and multiply what God has entrusted to you.

And I am increasingly realizing that it is also incredibly beautiful.

I pray that you would be rooted and grounded in love, filled again with the Spirit of God, and increasingly aware of the people He has placed in front of you.
