Why I Wrote My Wife a Card (and You Should Too)

This past weekend I took my wife away - not for work, not squeezed between flights or tacked onto a workshop, just the two of us on purpose.

We hiked trails, stayed in a rustic log cabin, and spent intentional time relaxing and connecting, celebrating 27 years of marriage, and the fact that we are (still) best friends.

A couple of months ago tested the friendship. In a low-filter/low thoughtful moment I said something dumb - something that exposed a 20+-year-old belief I didn’t realize was still inside me. As a small but powerful act of repentance, I started writing her handwritten cards every week. Each card expresses something I value about who she is - not what she does, but the core of her character.

Why?
Because your marriage affects everything.

Your leadership, your intimacy with God, your ability to make decisions - they're all connected. So invest in what matters most. Because the alternative (disconnection, dysfunction, or divorce) is far too costly!
