Unlocking Kingdom Business Breakthroughs β A Step-by-Step Approach
Nov 06, 2024In this session with Dave and Barb Witbeck we delved into what it looks like to run a kingdom-centered business. Here’s a breakdown of the journey shared by Dave and Barb Witbeck, who experienced transformative results by bringing God into the core of their business. This story provides a roadmap and practical steps for anyone wanting to see what God can do in their work.
Step 1: Recognize Your Kingdom Identity
For Dave, the shift started with understanding his identity. He was working hard, even saying that Jesus was his managing partner, yet something was missing. Through a coaching session, he realized that he had been acting like a servant instead of a son with authority. This change in mindset from a "slave mentality" to one of sonship allowed him to fully trust and lean on God.
Challenge: Reflect on whether you operate from a place of striving or from a secure identity in Christ. Pray and ask God to reveal areas where you may be trying to earn what He has already given.
Step 2: Invite God into Every Detail
Dave and Barb experienced numerous supply chain issues due to COVID. Andy reminded them that “there’s no supply chain problem in the kingdom.” They prayed specifically for the impossible – and then experienced miraculous provision when materials arrived unexpectedly. They adopted the motto, “Let’s see what God can do,” bringing God into every challenge they faced.
Challenge: Identify one “impossible” issue you’re facing in your business or personal life. Pray and ask God to show His solution. Then actively expect to see His answer.
Step 3: Set Clear Expectations and Goals with Faith
Andy guided Dave and Barb to set “Baseline, Amazing, and Miraculous” goals. Baseline goals represent expected growth, Amazing goals stretch expectations, and Miraculous goals are outcomes only God could accomplish. This exercise not only increased their faith but also allowed them to measure God’s work in their business.
Challenge: Write down three goals for the next month: one baseline, one amazing, and one miraculous. Review these weekly, praying over each goal with expectation.
Step 4: Listen to Every Voice God Provides
A key breakthrough came when Dave began listening to his wife Barb’s insights. Her practical solutions, especially regarding packaging, were invaluable. Recognizing that God often speaks through our team or family members brought new perspectives and solutions.
Challenge: Think about a teammate, spouse, or mentor you may be overlooking. Ask God for humility to listen actively and see how He might speak through others in your life.
Step 5: Actively Engage with God Daily
The Witbecks shared that they began each day with expectation, choosing to partner with God by inviting Him into every situation. This isn’t passive; it’s an active pursuit. Barb explained that she prays, listens, and remains alert for how God might guide each day.
Challenge: Each morning, ask God, “What are we doing today?” and listen for His guidance. Keep a notebook and record His responses and the outcomes to build your faith.
Conclusion: Let’s See What God Can Do!
The Witbecks’ journey shows that God cares about every part of our lives, including our work. By growing in their identity, inviting God into challenges, setting goals with faith, listening to each other, and actively engaging with God, they saw incredible breakthroughs. Now, it’s your turn – take these steps and watch what God will do in your life and business.
