Make Sure You Do This!

Last week I was reading The Making of a Leader by Dr Robert Clinton. It was going ok until I hit chapter seven - The Deepening Lessons: Life Maturing Processes. What hit me was the use (BY GOD) of isolation, conflict and crises in order to form maturity in character...

...the people going through the isolation, conflict or crisis recognize, reflect and learn what they could only learn in this season.

How many of US will LEARN from this season of isolation, conflict and crises or will we just stumble through the other end to find that it was ONLY isolation, conflict and crisis!

 

The Israelites were LED BY GOD through the wilderness to be prepared to go into their promised land. Only problem was they NEVER LEARNED what they needed to learn so ended up:

 

1. Spending WAY TOO MUCH time in the wilderness, and

2. Actually dying there.

 

Bummer.

 

Jesus on the other hand was LED BY GOD into the wilderness. He learned what He needed to learn in the wilderness and walked out of the wilderness in 40 DAYS... in the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

 

So, will you take way too long in your isolation, conflict and crisis OR will you learn what you need to learn?

 

Go ahead and ask God what He has for you in the NOW. Yes, it is painful and suffering. AND it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about the goodness of God and what He has for you IN this season.
